The walls of the arteries are elastic in nature to accommodate both positive and negative pressure.During contraction of the heart, the pressure exerted on the walls of the arteries is called systolic pressure, and during dilatation of the heart, the pressure exerted is called diastolic pressure.

In Ayurveda hypertension called as Rakta Capa Vriddhi . In Ayurveda  treats all disease as imbalance of three prakritis vata ,p itta and Kapha. Ayurveda sees the vitiation of Vata and Pitta doshas as the primary cause. Therefore, Ayurveda treatment of hypertension mainly involves a balancing of these two doshas. Fasting Therapy for Hypertension:

Begin with exclusive fresh fruits diet for about a week.  In this regime, he should take three meals a day of fresh juicy fruits such as apple, orange, mango, guava, pineapple, grape, watermelon are the best fruit at five-hourly intervals. Bananas & Jackfruit should be avoided. Thereafter he may adopt fruit & milk diet, for about 15 days.  It is important to note that milk should be boiled only once.  After fruit & milk diet, the patient should gradually adopt a well-balanced diet.

Diet Cure Chart for Hypertension:

  1. Upon Arising: Juice of one lemon & two teaspoons honey added to a glass of water extracted from wheat soaked previous morning.
  2. After ½ Hour: Juice extracted from 2 big Onions and 2 – 3 cloves of garlic.
  3. Breakfast (After ½ Hour): One cup milk with required sugar, two toast (no butter) if homemade butter (without salt) then ½ tsp. Of butter per slice is allowed.
  4. Mid Morning: One fruit or juice of seasonal veg. Such as cucumber, carrot, tomato, & look, in which juice of six tablespoons Amla & ginger should be added (Juice can be extracted from any one or all above said veg.)
  5. Lunch: Two wheat chappati, one bowl boiled veg. Without salt, one bowl sprouted pulses, one bowl salads made out of veg. And one bowl card or glass of butter milk without salt.
  6. Mid Afternoon: Seasonal fruit, orange, watermelon & other juicy fruits like Chikoo, Jamun, apple, guava, pineapple.
  7. Early Evening: One glass of vegetable juice made of seasonable veg.
  8. Dinner: One cup tomato soup or another vegetable without adding salt & spices, add only a little pepper powder and milk, two toasted vegs. Sandwich, one bowl rice with curd.
  9. Bed Time: Hot milk without sugar.

Avoid: Tea, Coffee, Alcohol, Tobacco, Flesh Food, Salt, Sugar, White Flour, Fried & Refined Food, Tinned & Frozen Foods & Soft Drinks.

Beneficial Foods: Apple, Cucumber, Garlic, Amla, Celery, Watermelon, Milk, Potato, Lemon, Alfalfa.

Ayurveda Treatment For Migraine:

 

Ayurveda is the best alternative medicine in the treatment of migraine.In Ayurveda , it is called as aAnanta VataIn Ayurveda there is another condition which is similar to this  called as suryavarta. In the condition of suryavarta the headache increases as the sun moves up in the sky and get relief as the sun goes down.

 

A migraine is characterised by recurring paroxysmal attacks.It occurs in bouts.You will get the pain only on one side of the fore-head.Between the attacks, you may feel perfectly well and lead a healthy life.

Causes for migraine:

Worry,anxiety and tension is considered too the-the primary cause of migraine.

 

Some times the head ache becomes so intense, and you get the feeling of vomiting.you may feel normal in the period between two attacks,b ut a trace of the heaviness of head and congestion in the nose always remains.

If you have nauseating sensation, then it is better to vomit out.Often indigestion precipitates the attacks of this disease.Vomiting relives indigestion, and you get relief from head ache.

Even if you have no nausea,y ou can drink 5-6 tumblerfuls of water and vomit it out. In a tumbler of water about half a teaspoon of salt should be added.It is better to use luke warm water.After drinking water as much as possible,t hen you may tingle your throat with the help of your finger for vomiting and relieve the head ache.

This type of head causes due to constipation to get rid of constipation you should take one teaspoon of Triphala powder with a cup of hot milk before going to bed.

Shadbinu taila is a medicated oil commonly used in the treatment of migraine.The dose of this oil is 5-6 drops per day.

Anu taila is the active medicine in migraine treatment. About 10 to 20 drops of this medicated oil is to be dropped into each nostril and deeply inhaled.It has no poisons.Deep inhalation of this oil may cause a little irritation of the mucous membrane of the nose and may cause sneezing.This oil, if properly inhaled, removes the blockage of the passage of the sinuses to the nose.The patient feels light his head and the heaviness as well as mental strain get relieved.You will get enough sleep and the nerves in the nasal passage are soothed.This inhalation therapy may use 2 to 3 times a day.If the attack of migraine is acute this inhalation therapy will give instant relief.

Godanti bhasma is the another alternative medicine that is very effective in the treatment of a migraine.migraine. Godanti bhasma is very cheap but effective you may take it one gram each with honey three times a day.

Suvarna sutashekhara is another drug you can use in this condition.

HEALING   MIGRAINE   NATURALLY

FASTNIG TREAMENT: Orange juice and water for 3 days. Take every 2 hours from 8 am to 8pm. alternatively take vegetable juice such as carrot, cucumber. A warm water enema take daily. While do fast to cleanse the bowels. Fruit diet for 5 days. Taking 3 meals a day of fresh fruit for 5 days. Taking 3 meals a day of fresh fruit such as apple pear, grapes, oranges, pineapple, peaches and melon.

AVOID : Caffeine , tea, coffee, soft drinks, alcohol, sager, salt, fermented food , cold water  , vinegar, Chinese,  spicy  fatty ,& fried food , cake , flesh food.

Hydro Treatment: 1)Hot Foot Baths 2) Cold pack on head 3)Spine cold compress to head and towel of hot water applied to neck 4)Abdominal pack, applied3hours after dinner for 20 minutes that improve digestion.

Left – Nostril Breathing: Breath from left nostril by closing right. This increase coolness in your body .By sleeping on right side your left nostril open automatically.

Massage & Acupressure Treatment;

1)      Press with both thumbs into base of your skull on the hollows on either side of centre line.

2)      Massage & rub your head with tips of fingers on back of your head and around temples.

3)      Pranayam – Inhale deeply then exhale slowly through nose.

4)      Press the points at inner corner of eye socket for 3-5 seconds with thumb and index finger.

5)      Pull your earlobes down a few times similarly pull your ear’s on the sides and in upward direction.

6)      Insert the tips of your forefinger in side ear and shake it .Press the tips of thumbs and tips of toes as these points represent head in acupressure.

Home Remedy for Migraine

  • Migraine can be treated effectively with the help of fresh grape juice. Grind grapes to extract the juice. Consume the juice in the concentrated form, without adding water.
  • Increase the intake of niacin (vitamin B3), as it has been found to be helpful in alleviating migraine pain. Some of the foods rich in niacin are yeast, whole wheat, green leafy vegetables, tomatoes, nuts, sunflower seeds, liver and fish.
  • Cabbage leaves are helpful in relieving the pain of a migraine headache. Squash cabbage leaves and place them in a cloth. Place the cloth on your forehead for sometime. Once the cabbage leaves become dry, remove the cloth and make a fresh one.
  • Lemon peel is helpful in solving migraine headache. Grind lemon peel to form a paste and apply it on the forehead. Let it dry and then rinse off with cool water.
  • A mixture of carrot juice, either with spinach, beet or cucumber juice, works effectively in curing migraine. Combine 300 ml of carrot juice with 200 ml of any other juice and drink it.
  • You can also mix 100 ml each of beet and cucumber juices, with 300 ml of carrot juice and drink it on a regular basis.
  • Include garlic in your diet. Either chew a piece of garlic in the raw form or mix it with other food items.
  • Taking lukewarm water enema is effective. It cleanses the bowels, thereby removing the toxins from the body and helping prevent migraine.
  • Powder and three teaspoons of water, put this solution in the nostrils, it is helpful to decrease the migraine and headache. This is another effective home remedy for headache.

2, Cough with out expectoration; and 3, Cough mixed with blood, which one finds typical cases of pulmonary tuberculosis.

Injuries or infections in the region of the throat might also produce mixed blood phlegm that is a serious condition.condition. Ayurveda has categorized what the modern medicine calls bronchitis, also as a type of Kasa Roga; It may turn chronic and deteriorate tubercular bronchitis.

In some cases,particularly among the aged,the lack of elasticity in the lung tissu es,the disease may turn into bronchiolitis.

 

 

 

Ayurveda treatment to cure a cough naturally

Standard Ayurvedic preparation used in a cough are

1, Chaturashana churna
2,Eladi Churna.
3, Yavani Shadava
4, Aparajita Leha.The latter remedy is specific for a whooping cough.

But in coughs where there is no phlegm is produced, the treatment should start with the lubrication of the throat.

Ayurvedic practitioners advise such patients to consume milk and ghee: if there is constipation present, laxatives like castor oil should be administered.

A decoction of liquorice root(mulethi) should be given wit5h sugar or honey to clear the phlegm.

Another natural remedy is black pepper in doses of 250 to 750 mg given with ghee, sugar and honey.

A paste made of equal parts of black raisins , dates, black pepper , Vidanga(bahera) long pepper(pipli) and honey may be used to get quick relief.Alternatively, a linctus made of the powder of long pepper, ginger, nut grass(Nagarmusta) Harada and sugar or honey can be taken easily.The dietary regimen to be followed in cases of a cough and allied disorders is to encourage the use of wheat , moong, old rice, barley, cow’s milk and ghee, raisins amalki.

The stuffs that one should avoid are brinjal, bael fruit,bitter-gourd, coughmustard and fried artichoke.

The patient should desist from sexual intercourse and must sleep during the day.He must take complete rest.
