Carrier oils are used to dilute the essential oils used in aromatherapy massages and to make beauty preparations. They contain vitamins, proteins and minerals, are highly effective moisturizers and provide many of the nutrients that the skin needs to stay soft and flexible. Cold-pressed base oils are generally of better quality than oils extracted by heat or solvent.
All ends of carrier oils
These viscous base oils can be used individually or enriched with special oils to dilute essential oils for aromas, massages, cosmetics or perfumes.
Apricot kernel oil
Apricot oil, extracted from the apricot kernel, is rich in minerals and vitamins. The natural moisturizer has a light texture and high penetration properties.
Sunflower oil is a good thin oil that I use in most body massage mixes. It contains vitamins e.
Soybean oil extracted from soybeans is light, nutritious and easily absorbed. It is especially indicated for oily skin.
Sweet almond oil
The sweet almond oil is extracted from the kernel of almonds and has a calming and soothing effect. Always use the sweet variety, not bitter. It has always been popular and suitable for babies.
Grapeseed oil, obtained by the heat of muscatel raisins, is good for oily skin.
These special oils can be added to general-purpose oils to improve skin penetration, nourish dry and dehydrated skin or prolong the shelf life of a blend of oils.
Carrot oil is rich in vitamins, especially in A. Add only 10% to the oils of other vectors, otherwise, the skin may temporarily discolour due to its bright orange color.
The sesame oil extracted from the raw sesame seeds has a slightly nutty aroma and contains 85% unsaturated fatty acids and 15% saturated fatty acids. It can be added to other oils to enrich them. Do not use fragrant strong brown boiled seed oil.
Avocado oil is made from avocado meat. It is rich in vitamins A and B, lecithin, proteins and fatty acids. It is an excellent softener for the skin and is easily absorbed.
Jojoba is a natural liquid wax from the seeds of an evergreen desert plant. The chemical composition is similar to the sebum of the skin. Its waxy structure and its antibacterial properties give it a long life. It is easily absorbed in the skin, does not oil and is especially suitable for the face. It is also good for thickening creams.
wheat germ oil
Wheat germ oil is rich and viscous, but its strong smell can be difficult to mask. Add 10 to 20% wheat germ oil to other vector oils to avoid rancidity and extend the shelf life of a mixture.
Choose essential oils
A mixture of oil is made by mixing a few drops of essential oil with one of the opposite essential oils. We all love different tastes and it is important that you seduce the aroma of the mixture, or that your friend, when mixing oils before a massage, believes what Marguerite Maury calls an individualized recipe. First, decide what effect you want to achieve: Should the scent be calmed or revived, energized or calmed down? Do you want to use oils for their therapeutic properties or simply take care of them? Make a list of essential oils that suit your needs. Choose two or three combinations in your list. The mixtures usually combine the three notes: superior and inferior. In general terms, the best is little: a mixture of weak oil often feels better and, therefore, is more effective than a stronger mixture. Follow the instructions below to obtain the safest weight loss of essential oils for a balanced fragrance and maximum therapeutic benefit.
