The importance of choosing the work you enjoy

June 22, 2019 by M.Hari Kumar Leave a Comment

We all work professionally to live well. However, choosing the job you want offers you many advantages. These are some of the most important benefits of their work.

David Ogilvy, founder of the advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather, quoted a Scottish province saying: “Be happy while you live because you’ve been dead a long time.” Tao Te Ching says: “Do what you want at work Your love”

If you really like your work, it really does not work. For me, success means being able to earn a good life and use the workday for pleasant tasks. Of course, you will not like all the projects in the same way. However, try to reconcile the obligatory “mandatory” task with more fun things for you. Look for exciting, interesting and satisfying tasks.

In addition to work, many people who want to prepare a dinner enjoy great productivity. These people are not necessarily workers. However, they are proud of their achievements and their effectiveness. My definition of a productive and efficient person is someone who can do what others need during a week in a day.

Talk to productive people Many are eager to be effective time managers for dinner, and are also confident that they are simply competent in their work, profession or skills. I love doing a good job. But I am also happy to do two projects in a week, while my colleagues are one.

Can you work to work better and enjoy more? Motivation experts say that we can change our attitude and behavior. “Attitude is a trap or freedom: create yours,” writes Judy Crookes in Inner Realm magazine.

Whatever your motivation, you not only enjoy good work, but also work in yourself. My motivation is to avoid boredom. Every day I go into my office and turn on the computer, I am grateful to be able to live with the writing. Therefore, I do not have to do any other work that bothers me.

Many professionals in all areas love their work so much that they never stop. The 80-year-old Englishman, Lee Falk, still wrote the caricature that appears every day.

“Enjoy your successes and your projects,” advised Max Ehrmann in his “Desiderta” of 1927. Stay interested in your own career, albeit modestly; It is a real possession in the changing times of time.

Mark Gruenwald, editor of Marvel Comics, was so enthusiastic about his work that in 1996, after his death, he asked to mix his ashes with the ink he used to reprint a series of superheroes he had written. According to an article in Dialy News (August 29, 1997) his wish was fulfilled. “He really became one with the story,” said his widow, Catherine Gruenwald.

Enjoy your work

Most, if Americans really do not like their job. “All bodies, with the exception of a complete idiot or a university professor who has never licked or had a job in their lives, are eager to stop, and the sooner the better,” said a factory worker at Benjamin Hunnicut, author from KEllogg. day. But as Marilyn Machlowitz points out in her books, Workholics: “When work is fun and not just a job, it is never hateful or hot”.

Learn to love your work. If you find something that you like and you’re good at, you can not stop long enough to sleep.

The psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi coined the term “flow” to describe the mental state of people when they like their work. According to this theory, the river is a state in which people are so involved in an activity that nothing seems to matter anymore. The experience that people do with great effort is pleasant (Flow, Harpercollins, 1991). If you’ve always been so busy with what you did not want to stop, you were probably in a transmission. The more you are in the flow, the more enjoyment you will enjoy at work and the more productive it will be.

The naturalist Sigurd Oison comments: “Give me a job that I prefer”. The question is whether he can be productive in a job. “Can I get lost in this job, wrap my whole being in it … or will it be another job again?

Herb Kelleher, CEO of Southwest Airlines, says: “I work most of the time, I like what I do, my vocation is my vocation, if you like what you do you do not have to stress.”
