The aromatic essential oils can enrich your life, whether for therapeutic purposes, in beauty treatments, to perfume the house or for the greatest pleasure. When oils are combined with massages, they improve morale and promote good health.
What is aromatherapy?
“Aroma” comes from the Greek Greek spice. Today, we talk more and more about perfume and “therapy” means treatment. Aromatherapy literally means healing with perfume. My research on the therapeutic properties of essential oils and the plants they come from took me around the world and put me in touch with many cultures where essential oils are valued. In the aromatherapy massage, I reveal the traditional healing qualities attributed to my favourite oils and I discuss the properties attributed to them by the latest research. I have always mixed blends of oils with essential oils, believing that they improve the effect of a massage. The smells are perceived by the part of the brain that is related to the emotion, so the joy of the part of the brain is related to the emotion so that a pleasant smell can have a positive effect on your enthusiasm for life.
The art of massage
Massage is probably the oldest and simplest medical treatment. Rubbing a painful shoulder or relieving a wrinkled forehead is a healing instinct common to all cultures. More than two thousand years ago, the Greek physician Hippocrates said: “Rubbing can tie a loose joint and release a rigid joint.” This is the most intriguing part of massage: the same strokes can cause many effects. Revive fast movements while similar slow movements can induce sleep. And because massage is almost natural, the techniques are easy to learn. The physical benefits of massage, such as improving blood circulation and relaxed muscles, as well as the psychological sensation of being comforted and cared for, create a unique sense of well-being.
Touch and smell
An aromatherapy massage is an art based on empathy between the person giving the massage, the person who receives it and the aroma of the oils. Each oil mixture is individual, depending on the favourite smells of the recipient and the desired effect, either to alleviate minor ailments, to take care with an aromatic beauty treatment, or simply to relieve tension through a full body massage.
More than 700 years ago, Rumi, an Afghan poet and philosopher, described the benefits of aromatherapy in this story: There was once a man with a disease that apparently no one could cure. After travelling a lot, he found a very wise doctor who gave him a stick and told him to go with him every day. A month later, the man was completely healed. He returned to the doctor’s office and discovered that the stem was full of aromatic plants and spices and that the heat and the touch of the human hand interfered with its healing properties. I hope that the aromatherapy has the same beneficial effect for you and that the aromatherapy massage helps you to feel the touch and the sensation in the most comfortable way when giving and receiving a massage with aromatic oils.
