The predominant symptoms are cramping and abdominal pain, bloating, gas and trouble with bowel movements (either diarrhea or constipation). Due to this irregular bowel movements, most of the IBS patients feel an urge to go to the toilet urgently after taking a meal. The stomach feels free once they went to the toilet.
The exact cause of IBS is not determined. The intestine is connected to the brain. Signals go back and forth between the bowel and brain. These signals affect bowel function and symptoms. One of the main cause of IBS is stress. More than any physical problems, IBS more related mental tension and stress.
As per Ayurveda people with vatta prakruti are prone to IBS. Vatta prakruti people are hyperactive and feel anxious most of the times. The nerves can become more active during stress or anxious, causing the intestines to be more sensitive and squeeze (contract) more.
There are no specific tests to determine IBS. The doctor confirms IBS based on the symptoms suffered by the patients.

Take Trikata Churnam 10 gm.
Take dried pomegranate peel powder 320 gm. Pomegranate. It makes digestion good and reduces the gas.
Take Vamsa Lochana churnam 10 gm.
Take Roasted fenugreek seeds powder 10 gm.
Take Roasted Jeera powder 10 gm.
Take sugar powder 320 gm.
Mix well all the Churnam and take a teaspoon of churnam mixed with buttermilk twice daily. This churnam will be helpful in controlling irritable bowel syndrome
